Welcome to the new online site for the Indiana Association of Historians

Welcome to the new online site for the Indiana Association of Historians.

On our Home page you will always be able to find up-to-date information about our next yearly conference, links to join the association and to donate, information on the annual Thornbrough Lecture, and the latest news on history in the state of Indiana.  You can look at programs from past conferences on our Archives page. On our Events page, you’ll find a monthly calendar highlighting special events, lectures, conferences, and publications from organizations and scholars\ across the state of Indiana.

We welcome your submissions!

If you handle media promotion for a state, county, or local historical society; for a museum or public history site; for a historical journal; for a college history department—we want information about your organization to post on the News section of our Home page and on our calendar.  Please send information to our new email address.

Thanks to Amy Hanlon of Blue Meta Designs for her outstanding web design of this new site.  Thanks as well to IAH president Michael Raley, vice-president Michella Marino, communications director Mersi Curtinger, and board member Dawn Bakken for their work on developing and populating this website.

About the Author

Founded in 1980, the Indiana Association of Historians welcomes anyone interested in the study, enjoyment and promotion of history. As an organization, we bring together educators, scholars, genealogists, archivists, public historians, librarians and the general public interested in the pursuit of history. Our purpose is to provide a forum for professional historians to come together as a group for dialogue about the academic discipline they share, but the IAH is also committed to reaching out beyond the university community, or communities, to share the study of history with other professional historians and with the broader public.
